What Does It Take To Be A Doctor Or Vet? The Children In Early Years Spent The Day Finding Out

Dr Pearson

Dr Pearson is a vet and she very kindly came in for an afternoon of fun. She started by showing the children her toy dog who had swallowed a spoon, they watched as she did an x-ray, got the spoon out, stitched the dog back up and put a bandage around it. Early Years then had great fun with all the wonderful vet resources Dr Pearson brought in, including stethoscopes, pulse rate monitors, aprons, hats, masks, gloves as well as putting bandages on the teddies.

Dr Mahmood

Dr Mahmood came in to talk to the children about being Scientist. She discussed DNA and showed the children how she might test DNA using pipettes. Dr Mahmood discussed the different parts of the body with the children and then gave them the opportunity to try using pipettes as well as adding bones to skeletons.
