This October, Normanhurst proudly celebrated Black History Month with an exciting Jamaican food tasting and cooking demonstration event for students from EYFS to Year 9, hosted by St Best Jamaican Food. The event aimed to deepen the children’s understanding of Jamaican culture through its rich culinary traditions. The children learnt to cook and prepare jerk chicken and rice and peas, then had the opportunity to sample these delicious foods cooked on the traditional oil drum BBQ.
