Our Senior and Junior School Choir participated in a special project last July for Commonwealth Resounds.
The Commonwealth Resounds is an officially accredited Commonwealth musical organisation. Established in 2005, their mission is to connect musical cultures, and to promote initiatives and partnerships in Commonwealth countries.
The final video, a combination of choirs across multiple countries, played at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings in Samoa (shown in October 2024).
The film is based on a special project called ‘A Commonwealth Music Relay’ created to celebrate the Commonwealth’s Year of Youth. To explain it in a nutshell – instead of a sports baton, a piece of music is being passed around the world.
Normanhurst filmed at school just after the end of summer term. The children worked so hard and Mrs. Scott is very proud of them with such a fast turnaround.
